The dated 1970s detached house was one of a pair flanking a substantial 1930s house in mature gardens. The house, though benefitting from a lovely setting and aspect, close to a park and conservation area, was badly built and thermally inefficient. After considering various plans for extending and upgrading the existing structure, it was decided to demolish and rebuild in a more up to date idiom and with up to date materials and sustainable technology. The new house benefits from generous circulation on the ground floor, an inviting kitchen, living and dining suite, comfortable en-suite bedrooms and a loft that is already fully used for music, hobbies and relaxation by the household.
